Shocking cold-bloodedness and zero remorse: Behind the solving of the Binyahu Razi murder
Investigators of the Binyahu Razi murder describe the shocking behavior of the suspects: smiles during interrogations, betting on prison sentences, and a complete lack of empathy. New details have also emerged regarding the interrogation of a policewoman who withheld information about her sister's involvement in the crime.
It was a typical summer Saturday in Jerusalem. A group of teenagers was spending time at an ice cream parlor in Beit Hanina, unaware of how the day would end. A call summoned the group to Linor Sason's apartment, where Agam Tsarfi and Shilat Huta were already present. According to the investigation, this meeting was the preparation for the crime. When the group left, some members were armed with knives. The target was another apartment where Binyahu Razi arrived. Footage shows him walking up calmly, unaware of the danger. He was soon surrounded, while Agam and Linor, waiting in a car, watched via video call. Razi was pushed against a wall and stabbed to death. His friend Matanya, who tried to intervene, could not prevent the attack.
"From the very first moment, we understood that this was a major event that wouldn't end in one night," recalls Staff Sergeant Shlomzion Marks. As suspects were detained, investigators found that one individual, Aviad Sason, remained elusive, while the others maintained a "screaming silence" about him. It was later revealed that the group had coordinated their stories before the arrests.
"Acting like veteran criminals"
Investigators were struck by the contrast between the suspects' young age and their behavior. "You have a 15-year-old kid sitting in front of you acting like a veteran criminal," says Marks. Many showed no remorse. "No one asked what happened to Binyahu. No one asked about his family. A person died, and their faces didn't move. Total freezing." Chief Superintendent Hila Zaken adds that the suspects even made bets on how many years of prison each would receive.
The policewoman's role
During the investigation, a policewoman was interrogated after her sister Agam and Shilat Huta arrived at her home following the murder. Despite hearing about the violent attack, she did not report it to the police. During her interrogation by the Police Investigation Department (Mahash), she claimed she was overwhelmed. When asked why she, as a police officer, did not arrest them, she replied: "Everything came at me in a mess... they immediately got up and left." When confronted with the fact that she became an accomplice by withholding information, the policewoman requested to speak with a lawyer.
