Revealed: Real Madrid's offer to City for Rodri was "embarrassing"

As recalled, before contacts between Rodri and Barcelona intensified, it seemed he was closer to Real Madrid, but it has now been revealed that the Blancos were very far from reaching an agreement with Manchester City.
In fact, the media outlet El Chiringuito TV described Real's offer to City as almost embarrassing. According to their reports, the initial bid stood at less than 40 million euros, and the highest offer reached 45 million euros. In other words, Florentino Perez may have wanted Rodri on his team, but he was not prepared to pay accordingly.
In contrast, Barcelona was clearly prepared to pay, transferring 60 million euros to City for Rodri, with an additional 11 million pending future clauses. Thus, they overcame their great rival quite easily and secured the high-profile signing.
