Kurdish MMA fighter Rozhan Ebrahimi, 20, attempted suicide after facing intense coercion and threats from Iranian intelligence operatives attempting to force her to cooperate against political activists abroad, according to reports by the Kurdish human rights organization Kurdpa.

Ebrahimi was arrested on October 3 after security forces raided her family home in Saqqez without presenting a judicial warrant. Following her detention, her whereabouts remained unknown for days before she was eventually released on bail, though the pressure from authorities persisted.

According to sources close to the matter, intelligence agents confiscated her mobile phone, SIM card, and Instagram account, using her social media to send threatening messages to political dissidents outside Iran. Ebrahimi was repeatedly summoned for interrogations and pressured into helping security services lure activists into traps under the threat of severe charges, torture, and renewed imprisonment.

On October 20, amid relentless psychological pressure, Ebrahimi attempted to take her own life by ingesting pills. Her family intervened and rushed her to a hospital, where she spent five days recovering while remaining fearful of intelligence operatives. Kurdpa strongly condemned the Iranian regime's tactics, highlighting the use of psychological torture and coercion against female athletes to target regime opponents abroad.
