"Roy Revivo should have drawn the line, that is how one should conduct themselves"

Even before Maccabi Tel Aviv's match against CSKA Sofia in the Europa League qualifiers, the 103fm radio sports program discussed the future of Roy Revivo.

Former player Dadi Ben Dayan, who himself excelled at Maccabi Tel Aviv from the left-back position, said:

"He has made an excellent and amazing upgrade to his career. I think he is so mature and grown up that he could have drawn the line - to arrive at the game and training and give everything like a professional, and let the agent do what is necessary. That is how one should conduct themselves... What - to stage an Italian strike? Not to show up for training?"

Ben Dayan added: "Roy has it big time - what he lacked defensively in the youth team, he improved miraculously. He made amazing moves through his wing, it was the X-factor of Maccabi Tel Aviv. If he leaves, Maccabi will be in trouble."

Gil Vermouth added: "I can understand Roy. At the time, after Copenhagen wanted him and he really wanted to go and Maccabi Tel Aviv forced him to stay, I said that if they keep him this season too, he should not show up for training. Later I heard Eyal Berkovic say that too. Roy Revivo has exhausted his potential in the country, this step is called for."

Regarding the current squad of the 'Yellows', Vermouth said: "This lineup is not as good as the one that finished last season. They are being emptied of stars. On one hand, it should flatter the club that there is a cycle of developing players and selling them, including home-grown players. On the other hand, the lineup is not good enough."
