Hostage Survivor Rom Braslavski Blasts Yair Golan Over Political Video
Hostage survivor Rom Braslavski sharply criticized "The Democrats" leader Yair Golan for comparing a controversial film to the October 7 massacres to attack Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Rom Braslavski, a survivor of Hamas captivity, sharply criticized "The Democrats" leader Yair Golan on his X account on Tuesday after Golan published a video comparing the film "Nezah" to the October 7 massacres, using it to attack Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "You are out of your mind. Condemn what these two directors did, what is the problem?" Braslavski wrote.
Members of Golan's party, when asked about the film in conversations with "Beshva", also avoided condemning it. Gabi Lasky claimed: "It is easiest to justify human rights violations during wartime, and therefore there is also an obligation to ask questions and set boundaries. This is the essence of democracy."
According to Lasky, "It seems that the discourse surrounding the film 'Nezah' (which I have not seen) provides a glimpse into what must not happen: the violent discourse against the creators must stop, as well as the silencing of works that raise value-based questions which must be asked precisely out of pain."
This is not the first time Braslavski has criticized Golan. About a month ago, he spoke out against the music accompanying an election video targeting the Arab public: "I just want to let you know that the exact same tune was heard by the terrorists who held me in Gaza and tortured me every day. It is surreal to see a member of the Knesset in Israel hearing the same music as my terrorists in Gaza."
