Rivka Michaeli responds to the attack: "I feel like cursing this fool"
After a right-wing activist uploaded footage of himself harassing Moni Moshonov and mentioning Rivka Michaeli, the actress responded sharply: "Is this Judaism? This is the defilement of Judaism. His life and the lives of his family will be shortened, amen and amen."
After right-wing activist Eliran Siman-Tov harassed actor and comedian Moni Moshonov—an incident documented and published by Siman-Tov himself—Rivka Michaeli, who was also mentioned in the video, responded to the matter in an interview with 'Hadashot HaBoker'.
"Even though my longevity seems unnecessary in the eyes of this right-wing activist, I am still here," she stated.
In the footage uploaded by Siman-Tov, accompanied by the caption 'The Jews are leaving', the activist approached Moshonov in the street and said: "I have to ask you, how is it that at your age you haven't reached 'Ahuzat Rishonim' and such places? How do you always have the strength to continue until 200? You, and Rivka Michaeli. I have to know, how is it that only in your 'branza' (clique) do you live so long? You refuse to die."
In her interview, Michaeli responded to the footage: "I hear this vile, dirty thing. Is this Judaism? This is the defilement of Judaism. Wishing someone to shorten their days is a wish that, if he believes in God, will come back to him like a boomerang. His life and the lives of his family will be shortened, amen and amen, if there is a God. I feel like cursing this fool with the worst curses possible, and the boors who send him, those who do not know how to fight against liberal and enlightened people. Why are we here if not for art, literature, and the renewal of the Hebrew language?"
"Is this evil spirit blowing on you? Not on the street; people admit they don't agree but say they love me. It happens to me all the time. I haven't encountered these boors yet. I intend to continue living; the doctors said I have a long life expectancy, and I don't intend to get rid of it."
Regarding the state of the country, she added: "We are on the edge of an abyss, but now a ray of light is emerging. It is possible that something will change on October 27. I hope that the priorities will change, that the values we grew up on will return. I hope we return to the good path."
"Did you speak with Moni? We met last night, and he is much more smiley regarding this issue. He didn't say much, but I jokingly suggested he sleep at my place because I have security. Whoever wants to attack me in my home will have to cross several trenches."
