Rina Matzliach at 70: "It's happening, I can't believe it"

Journalist Rina Matzliach, a former senior anchor at the Channel 12 news company, recently made headlines after visiting her former workplace, which was like a home to her. In an Instagram story, the media personality expressed her support for colleagues dealing with threats and incessant attacks, writing that "it is not easy to be a journalist these days."

Last August, Matzliach announced that her new book, on which she had been working for a year and a half, had gone to print. The book is based on the successful series she has hosted in recent years.

"I chose 20 conversations out of the 80 I held on my podcast 'Mom, Dad and I' and collected them into a book," the well-known media personality shared.

In a new Instagram story, Rina Matzliach was documented at the printing house with the first version of her book, declaring: "It's happening. Wow, I can't believe it. Well, this is just the beginning of the printing."

As recalled, Matzliach has previously stated in interviews that due to the criticism she leveled at the Prime Minister and the ultra-Orthodox community, she received threats and was even assigned security. In July 2022, she announced her departure from the program "Meet the Press," which she had hosted for nine years. In November of that year, she retired from the news company following a breast cancer diagnosis.

Later, she received a lifetime achievement award from the Journalists' Association in Tel Aviv. Her diverse career has included hosting "What's Burning" on Army Radio (Galei Tzahal) and the weekly program "Novick and Matzliach" on Kan Bet. Alongside her media work, she played a role in the film "Monkey House" by Avi Nesher, won the VIP season of the cooking show "MKR - The Winning Kitchen" with her niece Meitar, and at the end of 2025, opened a pop-up shop to sell bags she had knitted.
