Historic Return: Condor Airline to Land in Israel After 70 Years
The tourist season brings positive news as two major airlines resume service to Israel. Among them is the German carrier Condor, which is making a symbolic return to the route of its very first flight.
Great news at Ben Gurion Airport in the peak of the tourist season: the German airline Condor, whose very first flight in history was from Frankfurt to Israel, is returning to Ben Gurion Airport after seven decades. Starting tomorrow, Saturday, August 1, the company will operate regular flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Tel Aviv (TLV).
Frankfurt serves as the company's primary operational hub, offering connections throughout Europe. For Israeli travelers, this is a significant development, as Frankfurt is a major international gateway for long-haul flights to destinations such as the USA and South America.
Founded in 1955, Condor is one of Germany's oldest and most renowned airlines. It has been operating continuously for over seventy years, managing a network of more than 70 routes connecting Germany to tourist destinations worldwide.
As a reminder, the airline suspended service to Israel at the outbreak of the war, but after several delays, it is now officially resuming operations. Ahead of this return, the company has appointed TAL Aviation as its exclusive sales representative in Israel. This partnership will focus on sales, marketing, and public relations, strengthening ties with travel agents and tourism wholesalers while increasing brand visibility among the Israeli public.
Additionally, SWISS (part of the Lufthansa Group) is also scheduled to return to Israel tomorrow. The airline will land at Ben Gurion Airport on a flight from Zurich, Switzerland, with plans to operate a daily service on this route.
