Watch: The duck that decided to 'check-in' at the David Hotel on the Dead Sea

The heavy heat at the Dead Sea spares no one, and it turns out that it does not spare the animals in the area either. Guests at the David Hotel were surprised to discover a new swimming partner in the pool this afternoon: a particularly energetic duck that decided to cool itself off in the cool water, much to the surprise of the vacationers.

One of the people spending time there, who documented the amusing incident, told C14: "I believe it was hot for him, it is boiling here like crazy. Suddenly someone noticed a head coming out of the water, and it just started swimming and running inside the pool. It was impossible to catch him!".

The fast duck did not make life easy for the hotel staff and the vacationers who tried to help. "The lifeguards threw up their hands and said it was impossible," she added with a smile. "People even tried to get him out with a fishing rod. He did 'rounds' from one side of the pool to the other, and everyone around was screaming with laughter. There are no things like this, it was simply hilarious."

It seems that for this duck, the vacation at the Dead Sea was exactly what it needed to break the heat – even if it skipped the line at the reception desk.
