Report: Real Madrid has frozen negotiations with Rodri, Barcelona is in the picture

One of the most intriguing issues of the transfer window in Spain is becoming complicated: according to a report in the Catalan "Sport", negotiations between Real Madrid and Manchester City midfielder Rodri have hit a dead end, and at the moment his move to the Santiago Bernabeu is not on the agenda.

According to the report, the main gap concerns the terms of the contract. Rodri is interested in a four-year agreement, while Real Madrid's offer did not satisfy him. As a result, talks between the parties have been frozen, and only a significant change from the Blancos could get the deal back on track.

Despite the halt in negotiations with Real, Rodri is still interested in returning to the Spanish league and is expected to continue examining offers until the end of the transfer window. According to journalist Mario Cortegana, those in the player's circle have even begun to explore the possibility of a move to Barcelona.

In "Sport", it is claimed that the relationship between Rodri and Real Madrid was not smooth even before the start of negotiations. According to the report, the club only pushed for the move after the World Cup, where the midfielder was chosen as the tournament's best player, partly due to pressure from fans who wanted to see him arrive at the Bernabeu.

It is also claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez was not enthusiastic about the move, partly due to Rodri's closeness to Enrique Riquelme, who previously competed against him for the club's presidency.
