Howe was appointed manager in November 2021, replacing Steve Bruce, and led the club through one of its most successful periods in recent decades. In 2025, he ended the club's 70-year trophy drought by winning the English League Cup with a 2:1 victory over Liverpool. Additionally, he guided Newcastle to the Champions League twice (2023 and 2025).
