Israir has successfully completed the first day of flights to Eilat as part of the Ministry of Transport's tender, transporting approximately 2,000 passengers and establishing a vital air bridge between the southern city and the center of the country.
The airline Israir, owned by businessman Rami Levy, launched its new air bridge to Eilat this past Sunday, transporting approximately 2,000 passengers on its first day of operations.
The initiative, which follows a tender by the Ministry of Transport and the Civil Aviation Authority, was launched at the request of the Mayor of Eilat. The high volume of passengers on the first day underscores the significant demand and the importance of this move in strengthening air connectivity with the southern city.
As part of the air bridge, Israir operates at least 10 flight segments daily between 06:30 and 22:30, ensuring essential transport continuity. The system is designed to meet the needs of the healthcare sector, the business community, local residents, and visitors, allowing for same-day travel for work or shopping. This activity directly contributes to the local economy, encourages tourism, and provides vital support to the residents of Eilat.
