Ra'am to announce the addition of Yoav Seglovich: he will be placed second on the list

In recent months, Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas held a dialogue with Seglovich, and in recent days, Abbas worked within the party's institutions to recruit him. Sources in the 'change camp' stated that this move is intended to create a divide between Ra'am and other Arab parties, possibly in preparation for its potential integration into a future coalition.
Seglovich, 67, headed the investigations division in the police during a period when a series of dramatic investigations were conducted against senior public figures, including former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. Elected to the Knesset on the 'Yesh Atid' list, he served as Deputy Minister of Public Security in the 'government of change'. In this role, he managed the campaign against crime in Arab society and achieved results, though the program was canceled by Minister Itamar Ben Gvir immediately after the current government was established.
At the beginning of August, MK Abbas addressed the issue of political alliances:
«Any step of creating political alliances or adding independent figures will be examined for electoral, political, and practical feasibility in the Ra'am institutions. This is on the condition that these moves will promote the goals of the list: replacing the right-wing government, supporting the establishment of an alternative government in which we will be partners, and working to address the issues of violence, crime, house demolitions, racism, and fascism, as well as promoting equality and justice for all.»
Opposition leader Yair Lapid addressed the possibility this morning in an interview with Galei Tzahal that his former colleague from Yesh Atid would join Ra'am:
«I think Seglovich is wrong in his joining Ra'am. We had long conversations about this subject. But at least he is doing what he believes in, and I appreciate him for that.»
