Four Israelis arrested at drug party on boat off Greek coast
Israeli nationals, including businessmen, were detained during a Greek Coast Guard raid on a catamaran near Lefkada. Authorities discovered various narcotics and cash in multiple currencies on board.
The Greek Coast Guard raided a private catamaran off the coast of Lefkada last week, arresting four Israelis on suspicion of participating in a drug party on board. Among the four Israelis are businessmen, including one linked to a cafe chain in Israel. Four other suspects—citizens of Italy, Latvia, Turkey, and Spain—were also arrested. The incident was reported in Greek media several days ago, though the names of the eight detainees have not yet been disclosed. According to Greek authorities, four of the suspects are Israeli citizens who do not hold Greek citizenship. During a search of the vessel, officials seized over 55 grams of cannabis, approximately 10 grams of crystal methamphetamine (MDMA), more than 8 grams of cocaine, and over a dozen ecstasy pills. Authorities also confiscated a dozen unidentified blue pills, plates containing cannabis residue, and banknotes with traces of cocaine. Additionally, approximately 7,000 euros, cash in three different currencies (including shekels), mobile phones, a laptop, and the boat itself were seized.
