1. What is good for retailers is good for an energy company: the new move by Supergas
It seems that making a purchase today without receiving a discount, accumulating cashback, or collecting points is equivalent to the feeling of being a "sucker," which deters many Israelis. The market is flooded with such moves, but now a less trivial step is being taken: Supergas Power, the energy company of the Electra group, is launching a digital benefits wallet under the Extra Power brand.
In doing so, the company, which specializes in gas and electricity services, is trying to become a group of home solutions that creates purchasing power and economic value for its customers even beyond core services.
The application was developed and designed together with the Benefits consumer club, and it is open to Supergas Power and Super Power customers. Purchasing through it allows for a discount of up to 20% in about 120 chains - without joining fees, without a limit on the purchase amount, and including double promotions.
Among the chains with which the company collaborates are fashion players such as the Fox group, Hoodies, Castro, and the Golf group. In the food sector, the application offers benefits for chains such as Carrefour, Machsanei HaShuk, and Nitzat HaDuvdevan.
The company says that later on, the discounts will also expand to the worlds of home and energy, with benefits on products for outdoor and indoor cooking, camping, home heating, and more.
"The move fits into our broad strategy to deepen the connection with customers, strengthen their loyalty, and create for them a tangible value of smart consumption even beyond reducing energy expenses," explains CEO Daniel Sapir.
2. Tiv Taam parts ways with human cashiers
The Tiv Taam group is parting ways with regular cash registers in branches: the chain will launch smart cash registers in ten branches, where customers will scan the products themselves and payment will be made directly at the terminal, and later it will expand the move to all its branches.
The move was announced during the launch of the chain's 48th branch in the Protea complex in Rishon LeZion, with an investment of about 6 million shekels.
"We chose to start in large branches with heavy traffic, where waiting times can be significantly shortened," says Yossi Shalev, VP of Trade and Marketing at Tiv Taam. "It is a combination of several technologies that work together to streamline the shopping experience and reduce dependence on manpower."
According to him, at least in the first stage, one or two cash registers with cashiers will also operate in each branch - for customers who will find it difficult to use the smart system.
Another move that the group is announcing concerns the Mizrach U'Ma'arav company, which it acquired about a year ago. Last May, the daughter of owner Shalom Hagai, CPA Chen Hagai Cohen, was appointed co-CEO of the Asian brand. Now the chain is announcing the opening of "shop-in-shop" departments for the brand, which will be called "Ta'amei HaMizrach" (Tastes of the East) - Hagai Cohen will lead the move, which in the first stage will be implemented in ten large branches, and then in all the chain's branches.
3. Aviation
After a decade in which Lior Suchard led the safety video of the El Al airline, this week new videos were launched incorporating AI starring Rotem Sela, Deni Avdija, Gal Gadot, and Lior Raz - a move that was first presented at the Globes MAD conference about two weeks ago by VP of Marketing Nadav Hanin. The videos will be screened on all the company's flights starting in August.
As part of the move, about ten videos were produced that are adapted to flight destinations. That is, instead of a uniform video for all destinations, the visual elements change according to the destination. On some flights, dedicated recommendations are also integrated.
4. Digital
The "Confessions of Salespeople" community, founded by Ram Yitzhak Sadeh and bringing together tens of thousands of sales professionals and managers, CEOs, and business owners, has signed a strategic partnership with the high-tech company ToChat. The company will invest hundreds of thousands of shekels in developing the community's activities - including research, podcasts, community events, professional workshops, and other initiatives to promote the field of sales in the country.
The community, which began its activity on Facebook, currently holds accounts on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Spotify, as well as a WhatsApp group. In addition, it holds community events, workshops, a customer and consumer club, and more.
Number of the day:
20% — the rate of the jump in parking prices of "Achuzot HaHof" in Tel Aviv starting in August.
