Uri Kumei, known to the general public mainly for his character of "Dudu Faruk," will star for the first time in a leading role in a feature film. Kumei was cast in the youth psychological thriller "Dam BaMayim," which began filming last week and is expected to reach cinemas during the coming winter.

The film is directed by Doron Eran, and it constitutes his first film collaboration with his daughter, Hila Eran, who serves as producer and actress. Alongside Kumei, Naya Federman, Niro Levi, Rudy Saada, Herzl Tovi, Micha’el Gv’at’i, Yael Karpelov, Yonatan Horen, Gefen Rozov, and Harel Beracha will also star. The script was written by Tomer Almagor. This was first reported on Walla.

The plot of "Dam BaMayim" is based on real events and deals with phenomena of boycotts, shaming, and violence among teenagers in a world where every incident is recorded and spread quickly on social networks. At the center of the story are the teenagers who harmed others, after they were sent to a closed therapeutic framework as part of a rehabilitative process following actions that, according to the plot, led to severe psychological injuries and even cases of hospitalization and death.

During the film, the young people participate in a unique therapeutic workshop, in which they are required to deal with feelings of guilt, responsibility, and the possibility of changing their path. The film’s production receives the support of organizations that operate in the fields of education and the fight against violence, and its total budget is estimated at about one million dollars.
