The IDF Spokesperson stated that "interceptors were launched at a suspicious aerial target that likely crossed from Lebanese territory into Israeli territory. The results of the interception are under investigation; there are no casualties. Rocket and missile alerts were activated following the interception attempts." The Home Front Command stated shortly thereafter that the incident had concluded. The cause for the activation of the alerts in the area is still under investigation.
Furthermore, the IDF stated that a military exercise will take place during the morning hours in the Golan Heights area. It noted that "as part of the exercise, there will be increased movement of security forces, and sounds of gunfire and explosions will be heard." The exercise was planned in advance as part of the 2026 training program.
