An unknown individual smashed the glass doors of the News 12 newsroom in Tel Aviv tonight, marking the second such incident in three weeks. News 12 stated: "This is a real alarm! The blood of News 12 journalists is not forfeit."
Incitement against News 12: The glass door at the entrance to the newsroom in Tel Aviv was smashed tonight—just three weeks after a previous incident. This act of vandalism follows a year of repeated graffiti attacks against the company's reporters outside their studios.
"We are waking up for the second time in less than a month to find that dangerous violence has shattered the door of our newsroom," News 12 stated. "This is a real alarm! The blood of News 12 journalists is not forfeit. The government of Israel and the Minister of Communications must cease their inciting and unrestrained attacks on the free press, which lead to such severe acts. The Israel Police must act immediately to stop this dangerous violence before it escalates further. We will not be deterred, even in the face of legislation, incitement, and violence."
News 12 reporter Michal Peylan accused the government of being responsible for the incitement against the news organization: "It is madness to me that this government has succeeded so thoroughly in its incitement that some citizens will see this news this morning and simply smile to themselves. Truly, in the State of Israel, they have managed to create a level of hatred between people that is identical to the hatred of our enemies."
