For the 12th time: Bayern beat Dortmund 1:2 and won the Super Cup
The double-winners added another title to their trophy cabinet: Brown scored first (28th minute), Olise doubled the lead (45th), and Silva only narrowed the gap (75th). Bensebaini was sent off towards the end of the match.
Bayern Munich opened the 2026/27 season with a title. The German champion and cup holder won 1:2 this evening, Saturday, against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park in the first Klassiker of the season, winning the Franz Beckenbauer Super Cup for the 12th time in its history.
The atmosphere in Dortmund was electric and both teams started at a high pace, but as the minutes passed, Bayern took control of the game. In the 28th minute, the first goal arrived: Michael Olise laid the ball off to the fresh signing Nathaniel Brown, who sent a shot into the net and recorded his first official goal in the Bavarian uniform. Dortmund thought they had equalized through Ramy Bensebaini, but the goal was disallowed due to offside.
Just before halftime, Bayern struck again. Olise took advantage of a bad pass by Jude Bellingham, broke into the box, and in the 45th minute beat Gregor Kobel to make it 0:2. The French midfielder thus completed a great half, with an assist and a goal.
Dortmund stepped up a gear in the second half and tried to get back into the contest. Manuel Neuer was required to stop an attempt by Konstantinos Karetsas, and in the 75th minute, the local pressure paid off: Daniel Svensson passed the ball back and substitute Fabio Silva finished into the net to narrow the score to 1:2.
The goal gave the hosts hope for the final minutes, but Bensebaini received a straight red card and left them with ten players. Even so, Dortmund still had a chance to equalize, but Maximilian Beier missed carelessly, and Bayern held onto the lead until the final whistle, celebrating their first title of the season.
