Over two months after the murder: suspect arrested in the liquidation at a Holon gas station
The investigation into the explosion that killed 25-year-old Mustafa Abu Lasan has seen a breakthrough: Tel Aviv Central Unit detectives have arrested a 34-year-old Jaffa resident. Searches also uncovered weapons and drugs, leading to the arrest of a second suspect.
More than two months after 25-year-old Mustafa Abu Lasan of Jaffa was killed by an explosive device in his vehicle at a gas station in Holon, a significant development in the murder investigation was recorded today. Detectives from the Central Unit of the Tel Aviv District Police arrested a 34-year-old Jaffa resident on suspicion of involvement in the murder.
The incident occurred on June 28. Shortly after the explosion, Tel Aviv District Commander, Nitzav Haim Sargof, arrived at the scene to conduct a situation assessment, and the investigation was subsequently assigned to the Tel Aviv Central Unit.
Today, detectives from the Central Unit, supported by the Tel Aviv YASAM unit, conducted operations at several locations. During searches at the suspect's home and nearby, officers seized a pistol, two loaded magazines, and half a kilogram of cocaine. These findings led to the arrest of a second individual—a 30-year-old Jaffa resident—on suspicion of weapons and drug possession.
Both suspects are currently being questioned. Tomorrow, the police are expected to bring them before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court to request an extension of their detention.
