Pillar of the club: Tomer Ginat extended his contract with Hapoel Tel Aviv until 2030

Hapoel Tel Aviv officially announced on Monday the extension of captain Tomer Ginat's contract, who will continue to lead the club in the coming years. With the completion of the new agreement, Ginat will complete eight consecutive years in his current tenure, which adds to the four years from his first stint at the club – for a total of 12 seasons in the red uniform, a figure that highlights the deep and unique connection between the forward, the club, and the fans.

Throughout his years at Hapoel, Ginat has been a partner in the greatest moments in the club's history. He won the EuroCup with the team while averaging 8.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists (65.4% for two). The achievement led the Reds to a historic participation in the EuroLeague, during which Ginat recorded 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds on the way to reaching the playoffs.

Club owner Ofer Yanai reacted to the signing on social media and pledged:

"This time in Hebrew, so it's clear to everyone. Tomer Ginat will retire in a Hapoel Tel Aviv uniform as an Israeli champion and a European champion. This is a promise! And one that I will do everything to keep. Good luck Tomer Ginat, good luck Hapoel Tel Aviv."

After the signing, Tomer Ginat shared his feelings: "Hapoel Tel Aviv has always been my home. It is a place that is dear to my heart and I am very happy to continue here – it is the natural thing for me. Being part of the club for so long is something very exciting and special for me. It's time to complete the mission in the country and take a championship! The goal is for the connection between me and Hapoel to continue for many more years and I can't wait for the rest of the journey."

Hapoel Tel Aviv's sporting director, Georgios Chinas, welcomed the move: "The captain stays at home. Tomer Ginat, the symbol of Hapoel, has committed to a lifetime contract with his family. Promises are meant to be kept, and Tomer is a man of honor. He will be our leader in the journey to win a championship."

Hapoel Tel Aviv coach, Dimitris Itoudis, added: "I cannot imagine Hapoel and its future without Tomer Ginat. We all as a club and also the fans are aware of his sacrifice and what he has done for Hapoel. He always puts Hapoel at the top of his priorities, and the contract extension is not just a matter of belief and commitment, but also in the professional aspect. Tomer is a tough guy who fights through injuries, and I wish him only health so that he can continue to help Hapoel for many years to come."
