Woman Murdered in Petah Tikva Apartment as Children Are Home
A woman was murdered in her Petah Tikva apartment as her children were home, discovered by her 12-year-old daughter. Her husband was later found dead nearby.

A shocking murder occurred overnight between Sunday and Monday in Petah Tikva, leaving a local community in disbelief. A 12-year-old girl discovered her mother dead in a pool of blood inside their apartment, while her other children were also present at home. According to police and media reports, the victim's husband was found lifeless a few hundred meters from the scene, with investigators suspecting he died by suicide shortly after the killing.
Neighbors living in the same residential building described the couple as reclusive and extremely quiet, noting they had lived there for about two years with minimal interaction with other residents. One neighbor stated that the couple kept to themselves, adding that the wife worked at the Rivka House medical facility, while the husband's occupation remained unknown to those nearby. Security camera footage retrieved from the building's courtyard captured the husband leaving the premises during the night, though cameras did not cover the interior of the apartment.
Following the tragedy, women's advocacy organizations strongly condemned the incident and called for heightened societal vigilance. Tal Hochman, chair of the Israel Women's Network, expressed deep sorrow, emphasizing that violence against women is not an inevitability and never begins with murder. Similarly, the Michal Sela Forum issued a statement urging society to recognize early warning signs of domestic abuse, expand protective frameworks, and take proactive measures to prevent future tragedies.
