Residents of a 24-story residential tower in Haifa's Hadar neighborhood are facing a severe daily crisis, living in constant fear due to repeated fires, failing infrastructure, and ongoing maintenance failures. According to testimonies provided to local media, three fires broke out in the building's garbage shaft within less than a week, prompting emergency responses from the Fire and Rescue Services. Residents suspect at least some of the blazes were acts of arson, though official investigations are ongoing.

The safety hazards are compounded by chronic infrastructure failures. Elevators repeatedly break down due to water infiltration, parking lot control buttons frequently malfunction, and residents experience recurring water and electricity outages. One resident recounted having to walk down 26 floors despite recovering from recent surgeries, describing a reality of profound physical distress rather than mere temporary inconvenience.

This crisis is part of an escalating pattern previously documented by local media outlets. In late October and early November, reports detailed four arson attacks within a week, families fleeing their homes at night, flooded elevators trapping passengers, and vehicles set ablaze in the shared parking garage. Amid these dangers, residents report that the management company continues to demand full service payments while threatening legal action against those withholding fees.

In response, the Haifa Municipality stated that the situation involves criminal incidents handled exclusively by the Israel Police Haifa station. Municipal officials confirmed that the head of operations recently convened a multi-participant meeting involving police, firefighters, tenant representatives, the management company, and the developer. The municipality is assisting residents by clearing fire debris, providing replacement garbage bins free of charge, and cleaning the surrounding area.
