A 27-year-old Pennsylvania woman has been charged with homicide after allegedly stabbing her husband and three-year-old son to death at a Pocono Mountains resort.
A 27-year-old Pennsylvania woman, Metallica Rose Harrison, has been charged with criminal homicide after allegedly stabbing her husband and three-year-old son to death at the Great Wolf Lodge resort in the Pocono Mountains.
The incident occurred on Monday, and local prosecutors announced two counts of criminal homicide against her on Tuesday. According to court documents, Harrison called emergency services Monday afternoon following an apparent suicide attempt, telling the dispatcher that her husband and son were already dead and expressing remorse.
Responding officers discovered Harrison injured inside the room alongside the bodies of the father and child. She was subsequently transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Investigators reported that during the ambulance ride, Harrison stated she tried her best every day to be a good person, mother, and wife, noting she had dreamed of a happy family since childhood.
District Attorney Mike Mancuso stated that the motive remains under investigation. The family had been staying at the resort since September 21 and two knives not belonging to the property were recovered from the scene. Harrison is currently held without bail as police emphasize it was an isolated domestic incident posing no threat to the public.
