During his vacation: Pro-Palestinian organization filed a complaint against the CEO of "Im Tirtzu"
The HRF organization filed a complaint in Vietnam against Matan Jarchi and demanded his arrest: "He participated in war crimes." The organization attributes to him statements such as "Gaza is a terror nest" and calls for emigration. According to the hostile Belgian organization, "these statements amount to direct and public incitement to genocide."
The Belgian pro-Palestinian organization that pursues IDF soldiers when they go abroad filed a criminal complaint on Friday in Hanoi to the Vietnamese authorities against Matan Jarchi, the CEO of "Im Tirtzu", who, according to the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), is currently on vacation in Vietnam. The anti-Israel organization demands that the authorities in Vietnam arrest Matan Jarchi, open a criminal investigation against him, and prosecute him.
The Israeli right-wing movement "Im Tirtzu", which works to strengthen Zionist values, notes in the biography of the 39-year-old CEO Matan Jarchi his service as a reservist who previously served in the Golani Brigade's engineering unit. The hostile Belgian organization claims that Jarchi serves in the 920th Battalion of the 769th Regional Brigade, which it says was deployed in Gaza and southern Lebanon, and attributes to him "direct involvement in the illegal destruction of civilian property".
The complaint claims that Jarchi committed war crimes and acts of genocide, and also incited others to commit genocide. "Evidence indicates that Jarchi participated in the destruction of civilian infrastructure in central Gaza, including the Al-Bureij and Al-Maghazi refugee camps, as well as the Shuja'iyya and Rimal neighborhoods in Gaza City, between December 2023 and January 2024," the organization claims, "after that, he was sent to southern Lebanon between October and November 2024, where he continued to destroy civilian infrastructure."
The Hind Rajab Foundation claims that the CEO of the Zionist organization also published a series of public statements calling for the forced expulsion, killing, and starvation of the Palestinian population. "Not only did he describe the recognition of Palestinian civilian casualties, especially children, as treason, and made explicit statements equating the entire Palestinian population with Hamas, while justifying their attacks without any 'mercy', he also supported the permanent expulsion of the population, condemned the sending of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and distributed material calling for a new Nakba."
It attributes to Jarchi statements such as: "The citizens of Gaza are part of Hamas - brothers and sisters, cousins, neighbors. Everyone is connected to terror, whether directly or indirectly. We must not have mercy on them: 'Whoever has mercy on the cruel will eventually become cruel to the merciful'. We are Jews, but we must also understand that Gaza is one huge terror nest."
In addition, it attributed to him the statement that "there should not be an agreement without emigration. At the very least, they should start promoting the whole issue of emigration. So it is not just the removal of the threat and not just the elimination of Hamas, but also emigration."
According to the hostile Belgian organization, "these statements amount to direct and public incitement to genocide". It notes that Vietnam is a signatory to the Geneva Conventions and the Genocide Convention and argues that it has an obligation "to investigate and prosecute individuals present on its territory who are suspected of committing serious international crimes, regardless of where these crimes occurred or the nationality of the perpetrator."
Natasha Barak, head of the litigation department at HRF, added that "it is unacceptable that Matan Jarchi is vacationing among the Vietnamese people after he actively participated and publicly incited the genocide of the Palestinians. Immunity from punishment cannot be granted on foreign soil; Vietnam must fulfill its international obligations by arresting Mr. Jarchi and opening a thorough investigation."
"Matan Jarchi's guilt goes far beyond his direct participation in war crimes and acts of genocide on the ground," claims Dyab Abou Jahjah, founder and CEO of HRF, in reference to the complaint, "he used his public platform as a weapon to actively work for the continuation and escalation of this genocidal campaign. By openly calling for the starvation, removal, and killing of the civilian population of Gaza, he demonstrated a persistent commitment to extermination that requires immediate judicial scrutiny."
Abou Jahjah, a Lebanese Shiite Muslim close to Hezbollah, about 55 years old, a native of the Hezbollah stronghold, Bint Jbeil district, is himself banned from entering the UK, and appears on a list of people banned from boarding flights that pass through US airspace.
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), which has been conducting a legal campaign against IDF soldiers and Israeli officials abroad in recent years, has already filed dozens of complaints in many countries, including the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Spain, Romania, Cyprus, Peru, the USA, and Canada.
The complaints are often based on documentation that the soldiers themselves uploaded to social networks during their service in the Gaza Strip, and from which the organization tries to establish claims of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
The organization filed complaints against Brigadier General (res.) Ofer Winter, comedian Guy Hochman, ministers Itamar Ben Gvir, Eli Cohen, Israel Katz, former minister Yoav Gallant, and recently against Knesset members Ram Ben-Barak and Moshe Solomon. Most of these complaints did not receive an official response at all in the countries where they were filed, and a few months ago the organization began filing complaints against officials who, according to it, were supposed to handle them.
