This is the third consecutive season that the veteran American guard is playing outside the NBA: after leaving Hapoel Tel Aviv, he played last year for PAOK Thessaloniki, where he provided 7.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per night in 8 games in the Greek league. In the FIBA Champions League, he recorded averages of 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in 9 games, helping the team reach the tournament final.

Beverley, who was selected three times to the NBA All-Defensive Team, played 12 seasons in the best league in the world and appeared in more than 700 games in the regular season and playoffs. He was selected 42nd in the 2009 draft by the Los Angeles Lakers and also played for Houston, Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota, Chicago, Philadelphia, and Milwaukee.
