The current storm on the web surrounding the weddings of influencers and celebrities refuses to calm down, after TikTok and food blogger Daniel Amit sparked a heated debate when she claimed before her wedding that the takeover of the event by social media managers and uploading every moment live to Instagram is "pathetic in her eyes."
This charged statement triggered a wave of reactions, and the one who decided not to remain silent is internet star and pastry chef Or Spitz, who uploaded a series of stories responding to Amit's words on the day of her own wedding. She opened the topic to her followers and explained exactly what drives her to share the most personal moments of her life with the audience.
"There is a topic I want to talk about, because I feel like the web is raging and I cannot ignore it. And that is the topic of celebrity weddings: whether we should share, should not share, yes we share, we don't share, it is beautiful, it is not beautiful..."
Later, she referred directly, even if without mentioning her name explicitly, to the things Amit threw into the web: "It was very important for me to share my wedding here with you, because I feel that you are part of my journey and it would not be nice not to do it. But a few days before my wedding, some celebrity with a coupon code, who also only shares what she gets out of it, said how pathetic it is in her eyes to do this."
Spitz did not spare criticism on the use of the blunt word "pathetic" towards other content creators who choose to share their wedding day, and clarified her position regarding judgment on the web: "Now, first of all, I really dislike those who say 'it's pathetic in my eyes.' Honey, say 'it doesn't suit me, I like it less.' Why bring others down?"
