Opticana Brings Third-Generation Meta Smart Glasses to Israel
Opticana is bringing the third-generation Meta smart glasses to Israel, partnering with Ray-Ban and Oakley. Pre-orders have opened for the sleek AI-powered devices.

Opticana is bringing the third generation of Meta smart glasses to Israel for the first time, in partnership with international eyewear brands Ray-Ban and Oakley. The chain has opened pre-registration for a waiting list ahead of official sales in Israel, scheduled for the coming weeks.
The new generation of glasses features a thinner, more discreet design that blurs the line between a fashion accessory and a technological gadget. Alongside the design, the glasses integrate artificial intelligence, photography, calling, and audio capabilities, allowing users to perform various actions without taking their phone out of their pocket.
Design Improvements and Customization
The new generation also arrives with design modifications intended to make the glasses more natural and similar to regular eyewear. The temples of the glasses have been narrowed by approximately 1 mm in height and 0.3 mm in thickness, while the camera aperture and LED light have been reduced by about 36% compared to the previous generation.
User adaptation has also received emphasis. The ends of the temples can be adjusted according to head structure, and the glasses allow the integration of prescription lenses and customized multifocal lenses.
"Smart glasses are one of the most interesting developments in the optics world in recent years, and Meta's new generation is already turning the category from a curious technological product into a product that is part of everyday life," said Elroy Turgeman, CEO of Opticana.
Technological Capabilities and Social Media Integration
On the technological side, users can capture photos and videos from their point of view, listen to music and content, manage calls, and operate voice capabilities based on artificial intelligence—all without the need to pull the phone out of the pocket.
The Meta smart glasses, particularly the Ray-Ban Meta series, have become a central tool in recent years for content creators on social networks. Among other things, they allow users to stream live broadcasts directly to Instagram and Facebook accounts and communicate with followers in real time.
