Former NBA Star Omri Casspi Nears Billionaire Status via $800M Tech Fund
Former NBA player Omri Casspi is on track to join the billionaire club through his venture capital fund Swish Ventures, which manages $800 million and holds a portfolio valued over $60 billion.

Former NBA player Omri Casspi, who made history as the first Israeli to play in the world's top basketball league, is now building an even more impressive second career. Casspi is rapidly establishing himself as a major force in the technology investment sector, putting him on a direct path toward the billionaire club.
During his decade-long career in the NBA, Casspi played for seven different teams and earned approximately $18 million in cumulative salary. However, according to an extensive analysis published by the sports media platform ClutchPoints, which has nearly one million followers, Casspi's financial trajectory has shifted dramatically due to his venture capital success.
The Power of Swish Ventures
The primary engine behind Casspi's financial growth is Swish Ventures, a venture capital fund he established in late 2024. The fund currently manages a massive $800 million in assets, following a recent funding round that raised $250 million. Swish Ventures focuses on strategic investments in cybersecurity, infrastructure, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Out of approximately 20 companies in its portfolio, eight have already achieved coveted unicorn status. The total valuation of the companies within the fund's portfolio has now crossed the $60 billion threshold.
High-Yield Early Investments
Swish Ventures' success is built on identifying high-potential startups at a very early stage. Two notable examples include:
-
Cognition AI: Swish Ventures invested during the seed round when the company was valued at just $150 million. Today, the company is on track to reach a valuation of approximately $47 billion.
-
Upwind Security: An early investment in this cybersecurity firm saw its valuation soar from $65 million to approximately $3.8 billion.
Casspi is known for his aggressive investment strategy, which involves writing average checks of $20 million for a select, limited number of high-conviction companies. While the fund's total assets under management do not directly represent his personal net worth, his bold decision-making and timing have firmly positioned him among today's most influential tech investors.
