Omoda 4 EV Debuts With 215 HP and 465 KM Range in China
Omoda expands its crossover lineup with the fully electric Omoda 4, featuring a 215 hp motor, a 65 kWh battery, and a real-world driving range of up to 380 kilometers.

Following the debut of its hybrid variant, the Omoda 4 crossover is now expanding its lineup with a fully electric version currently making its debut in China. Measuring 4.42 meters in length with a 2.70-meter wheelbase, the compact crossover retains the striking, youthful design and spacious interior of its hybrid sibling while introducing distinct zero-emission capabilities.
Powertrain and Performance
The electric Omoda 4 is equipped with a front-mounted motor delivering 215 horsepower and 28 kgm of torque, powered by a 65 kWh battery pack. The manufacturer claims a driving range of 465 kilometers, though real-world testing yielded between 350 and 380 kilometers per charge. Acceleration from zero to 100 km/h takes 7.9 seconds, with a top speed capped at 172 km/h.
Charging capabilities include 11 kW AC home charging and 119 kW DC fast charging, which replenishes the battery from 20% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes. Tipping the scales at 1,740 kilograms, the electric variant weighs 190 kg more than the hybrid model, a mass increase that directly influences its road dynamics.
Driving Dynamics and Ride Quality
On the road, the electric motor provides prompt and decisive acceleration, particularly in mid-range passing maneuvers, feeling noticeably more agile than the official figures suggest. However, the suspension tuning exhibits slightly less refinement compared to the hybrid version. While body roll is effectively contained through corners, the heavier chassis transmits minor surface imperfections into the cabin.
Manufacturer representatives noted that the test vehicles were pre-production units, with final suspension calibrations currently being refined at engineering facilities in Germany ahead of commercial availability. The Omoda 4 EV combines competitive technical specifications with practical utility, offering an alternative for drivers seeking a compact electric crossover.
