After long months of rumors, reports, and conflicting accounts, Vinicius signed a contract extension with Real Madrid this evening (Thursday) and will remain at the club until the summer of 2032. The parties met on Wednesday to discuss the Brazilian's future, and during the talks, he was offered a contract reflecting his status and importance to the club's project. According to reports, the star, who currently earns about 18 million euros per season, initially demanded an offer of 30 million euros per season (like Kylian Mbappe) and rejected contracts of 20 and 22 million euros per season. In Spain, it is estimated that his new salary will be 24 million euros per season.

As is known, Vinicius had to decide between staying at Real, moving as a free agent next summer, or the possibility of joining Arsenal, which was prepared to make a significant move if he decided to leave. Now he has put an end to the incessant rumors. Talks about a new contract began as early as January 2025, but throughout the process, there were also periods of distance between the parties.

From Real's perspective, this is an important move that secures the stay of one of the team's stars and prevents the possibility of him being sold for less than his value or leaving without compensation. Vinicius has recorded 375 appearances since joining from Flamengo in 2018, scoring 128 goals and providing 100 assists. He has won three Spanish league titles and two Champions League titles with Real.

Last season, the Brazilian scored 22 goals in all competitions, but Real finished a second consecutive season without a major title. Despite the criticism he received from the crowd at the Bernabeu in recent months, the club views his contract extension as a significant professional, commercial, and image-related step.
