Official: Kings Kangwa signs four-year deal with Panathinaikos
The Zambian midfielder who led Hapoel Be'er Sheva to a league title and a State Cup victory has officially joined the Greek powerhouse. The club expressed its gratitude for his contributions.
After saying goodbye to his teammates and fans on Thursday, Kings Kangwa officially signed a four-year contract with Panathinaikos. The Zambian midfielder was presented in the green kit of the Greek powerhouse, which is reportedly paying Hapoel Be'er Sheva approximately 3.8 million euros, with additional performance-based bonuses included in the deal.
Kangwa joined Be'er Sheva in the summer of 2024 and immediately established himself as a central figure. During the 2024/25 season, he led the team to a State Cup title, followed by a league championship last season, where he was named player of the season. In total, he made 87 appearances across all competitions, scoring 29 goals and providing 20 assists. While he could not help Be'er Sheva secure the Champions Cup following a 3:1 loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv, he played a vital role in the team's victory over Iceland's Vikingur, advancing them to the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
Hapoel Be'er Sheva issued an official statement: "We want to thank Kings for the unforgettable time in red. A big thank you to Kings for everything he did on and off the pitch; we wish him great success in the future."
