Official: Armando Bacot signs two-year deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv

American center Armando Bacot, who played last season for Fenerbahce, has signed a two-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv. He is expected to earn approximately one million dollars per season. The 26-year-old, standing 2.08 meters tall, had a limited role last year, averaging 10 minutes across 26 EuroLeague games, with 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds.
"Armando Bacot is a player we have been following for a long time. A talented big man with very high offensive capabilities," said coach Oded Kattash after the signing. "We are sure he has a lot of room for improvement and we like that. He is an intelligent guy who plays with a high IQ. We are happy he is joining us and look forward to starting to work together."

Armando Linwood Bacot Jr. was a standout prospect in high school, leading to a five-year tenure at the University of North Carolina, a program with a glorious tradition that nurtured stars like Michael Jordan and Vince Carter. Bacot excelled in college before moving to the Memphis Hustle in the G-League, the affiliate of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. He impressed there with 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, but after failing to secure an NBA contract last summer, he signed with Fenerbahce in September.
He is expected to serve as the third big man in the rotation behind Roman Sorkin and the senior foreign frontcourt player currently nearing a deal with the club, German center Daniel Theis (34, 2.06 m).
