A 17-year-old resident of Ofakim has been formally charged with throwing a stun grenade at a villa in the city where a birthday party was taking place. The incident occurred during a celebration attended by approximately 20 guests, including the homeowner.

According to an investigation by the Beersheba District Police, the suspected motive stems from a personal dispute between a divorced couple. Investigators believe the ex-husband was enraged that his former wife had moved on with her life and allegedly enlisted the teenager to target the gathering as an act of retaliation.

Despite initial suspicions regarding the ex-husband's involvement, investigators were unable to secure sufficient evidence to press charges against him. Consequently, only the teenage suspect was apprehended after authorities gathered incriminating material linking him to the offense.

The defendant has consistently denied being present at the scene or having any involvement in throwing the explosive device. Nevertheless, the Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed a formal indictment against the minor at the Youth Division of the Beersheba District Court.

Furthermore, the teenage suspect is implicated in a separate incident involving a previously hurled stun grenade at the same residence a week prior, which failed to detonate. Defense attorney Or Ben Shanan, representing the minor, has strongly denied all allegations linking her client to both incidents.
