Oded Ben-Ami stopped the broadcast and announced: 'I regret this and apologize'

The storm surrounding the Rambam Medical Center continues: In recent days, a post was published on Instagram in which the brother of a fighter seriously wounded in Lebanon criticized the medical staff. The wounded man's brother noted, among other things, that the Arabic-speaking staff allegedly locked the doors and removed the families. The management of Rambam rejected the claims that were published and distributed on television channels, including in the program 'Six with Oded Ben-Ami' on Channel 12.

Against the backdrop of the charged discourse and statements against healthcare workers from the Arab community, Oded Ben-Ami apologized this evening (Tuesday) to the medical staff following the report published on his program.

'I would like to say a few words now following the broadcast of an item on this program on Sunday about the treatment of one of the IDF wounded in southern Lebanon at the Rambam Hospital in Haifa. Without going into the credibility of the things said by the wounded man's family member, an impression was created of questioning the professionalism and dedication of the Arab medical staff who treat IDF soldiers. Some of them, by the way, serve in the IDF.'

Given that the Rambam Medical Center has admitted hundreds of wounded fighters and civilians during the war, Oded Ben-Ami added:

'If that is indeed how things were understood, I feel the need to clarify that I have not the slightest doubt about the professionalism of the Arab staff members. They are good, they are worthy, their treatment of IDF wounded is excellent and sensitive. If any of the Arab medical staff were offended, I regret this and apologize.'
