Nvidia is beating forecasts: the chip giant's revenue for the quarter that ended in July 2026 stood at $96.2 billion, surpassing analysts' expectations of $92.17 billion. This represents a 106% increase compared to the same quarter last year. The company's net profit jumped by 126% to $59.69 billion, with earnings per share reaching $2.46, compared to the forecasted $2.1 per share.

The majority of the company's revenue, $89.02 billion, came from data center operations, which include sales of AI chips and communication chips developed in Israel. This is a 117% increase compared to the quarter that ended in July 2025. Within this segment, Nvidia recorded $48.71 billion (up 102%) from "hyperscalers"—large public clouds and major internet companies. Additionally, the company recorded $40.31 billion (up 138%) from the "AI clouds, industry and organizations" category, reflecting growth opportunities in AI data centers and factories across various industries.

Revenue from Nvidia's edge computing activity—covering devices for AI agents, physical AI, robots, and vehicles—rose by 27% to $7.2 billion. For the current quarter, Nvidia projects revenue between $105.84 billion and $110.16 billion.

During the past quarter, the company returned approximately $26 billion to shareholders through buybacks and dividends. At the end of the quarter, about $99 billion remained approved under the buyback program. A dividend of 25 cents per share will be paid on October 1.

"AI has reached a tipping point," said Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang. "It is doing useful work. Tokens are productive and profitable. Now, computing is revenue. Demand is accelerating. Today, we have a new golden age of AI labs and startups, a thriving ecosystem of open models, and physical AI that is starting to work. The construction of AI infrastructure is going full steam ahead. Vera Rubin, now in full production, was built to drive this very moment."
