Netanyahu: Israel rejects the 15 points of the Peace Council, we will not withdraw without the disarmament of Hamas
"When I say the disarmament of Hamas, it means heavy weapons, less heavy weapons, all weapons. And we are talking about real disarmament, not fictitious disarmament," stated the Prime Minister, who for the first time personally announced Israel's refusal to accept the presented outline. The announcement may spark disagreements with the USA.
For the first time personally, Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel rejects the 15-point document of the Peace Council. In a statement made this morning, Sunday, at the opening of the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said:
"Israel rejects the 15-point document. I heard people saying 'you didn't say it'. So here I am saying it again: Israel rejects the 15-point document. The IDF will not carry out any withdrawal until the disarmament of Hamas."
Netanyahu defined what disarmament means in the eyes of Israel:
"When I say the disarmament of Hamas, it means heavy weapons, less heavy weapons, all weapons. And we are talking about real disarmament, not fictitious disarmament. We are talking with the Americans about this issue. They have ideas, some of them are acceptable to us and some are not, and we know how to stand up to these things. We have proven it in the past and we are proving it today as well. In addition, the IDF will continue to thwart threats against our forces and against our citizens."
