Hapoel Ramat Gan has officially completed the legal and bureaucratic process for transferring ownership of the club to Avi Yehiel, following the registration of all required approvals from the Israel Football Association.
"Completing the formal process marks a significant and exciting milestone for us, the official beginning of a new era at the club," said Avi Yehiel upon completing the move. "We continue to work with humility, responsibility, and patience; there is still a lot ahead of us. The path and the vision are clear to us — that Hapoel Ramat Gan will continue to move forward in a way that will bring pride to the fans."
Alongside the completion of the deal, eyes remain fixed on the financial backing behind Yehiel. In the past, Yehiel stated that it involved two financial supporters without whom he would not have entered the deal, and emphasized that they prefer to stay out of the spotlight. However, in an interview with "Globes," Yehiel corrected this and clarified that it involves a single businessman who is working with him behind the scenes: "The person with me wants to contribute to this club, and we are doing it together."
Yehiel added a new layer regarding the investor's identity, noting that his support comes "out of a commitment to the club, the fans, and the community around it" — a statement suggesting that it is a fan of the club who is connected to it and its supporters. However, the investor will not be able to maintain complete anonymity for long, as his name will be revealed as is customary in the Rights Transfer Committee, the Israel Football Association, and the Budget Control Authority.
Now, ahead of the return to the Premier League after 13 years of absence, Yehiel is setting an ambitious bar and aiming for a budget of about 30 million shekels for the upcoming season: "We are building the team from scratch, and the clear goal is first to stay in the league. It is true that big money does not guarantee success, but without money, it is very difficult."
