Together in the same group again: Two Maccabi Tel Aviv exes reunited at Besiktas
David DeJulius and Wenyen Gabriel, who played together for Maccabi in the 2024/25 season, have reunited at the Turkish club. They will face their former team as early as the second round of the EuroLeague.

Besiktas continues to strengthen its roster ahead of its return to the EuroLeague. On Saturday, the club officially announced the signing of two players well-known to Maccabi Tel Aviv fans — David DeJulius and Wenyen Gabriel. The two are expected to face their former team as early as the second round of the season, when Besiktas plays away in Belgrade.
DeJulius (26) arrives after a career-best season with the Spanish team Murcia, where he averaged 17.7 points per game, finished second in the league's top scorers table, and was selected for the All-Season Team.
Gabriel also joins after an especially busy season. The 2.06-meter forward/center from South Sudan began his 2024/25 campaign with Maccabi Tel Aviv before moving on to Panathinaikos and Bayern Munich.
For Maccabi Tel Aviv, this is a particularly intriguing matchup early in the season, as two players who wore its uniform in recent years will stand on the other side this time in Besiktas jerseys.
