"We will not accept any equation": IDF prepares response against Hezbollah

A senior security official stated on Wednesday that the Northern Command is proceeding according to plan in scanning the area under Israeli operational control, locating Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure and weaponry, and pushing back terrorists. The official emphasized that the destruction of infrastructure is systematic and that IDF forces are either destroying or transferring weaponry to Israel depending on the situation.

Regarding Israeli strikes, the security official noted:

"Strikes from the ground and air are carried out in the area under Israeli control in accordance with understandings with the Lebanese government, and they focus on Hezbollah's attempts to enter the area under Israeli operational control."

The senior official clarified that the IDF wants to allow the Lebanese army to implement a pilot project. According to him, there is much work to be done, and the test will be entering areas where the IDF has not been to destroy Hezbollah infrastructure. He emphasized that this has not happened yet, but added that there is an Israeli commitment to the Americans to allow this to occur.

In addition, the official declined to comment on the dozens of terrorists besieged on the Ali al-Tahir ridge. At this stage, the Northern Command estimates they have water and meager food supplies for several more weeks, as the underground complex was prepared in advance.

He also refused to comment on the attack on an IDF engineering vehicle in southern Lebanon, stating that the IDF "acts wisely" and is not rushing to respond to every incident. At the same time, he emphasized:

"The IDF will not accept any equation, will not allow infiltration into its territory, and will remove threats to its forces. We must constantly evaluate the situation and act wisely. We respect the Americans very much."
