Avigdor Lieberman Trails Far Behind in Home Settlement of Nokdim
Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman fell short in his home settlement of Nokdim, where Religious Zionism secured first place with 41.5% of the vote.

Avigdor Lieberman, leader of Yisrael Beytenu, continues to face a stark rejection in his home settlement of Nokdim in Gush Etzion, where local voters overwhelmingly favor right-wing religious parties. According to certified local ballot data, Religious Zionism led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich swept the settlement with 41.5% of the vote, translating to 644 ballots.
Likud secured second place with 17.33% (269 votes), followed by Otzma Yehudit in third with 11.15% (173 votes). Meanwhile, Yisrael Beytenu and its local resident chairman languished in fifth place, capturing just 6.51% of the ballots cast, amounting to 101 votes.
A comparison with the previous 25th Knesset elections reveals a nearly identical political landscape in Nokdim. In 2022, the combined Religious Zionism and Otzma Yehudit ticket dominated with 48.83% (449 votes), while Likud garnered 22.99% (235 votes). Yisrael Beytenu stood at 5.97% back then with 61 votes.
While absolute figures show a minor increase in votes for Lieberman, overall population growth in the settlement left his percentage share virtually unchanged. Historical records indicate that Lieberman has not won an outright victory at his home ballot box since 2013, when his party ran on a joint ticket with Likud.
