Noa Tishby makes a painful confession: "I paid a personal, financial, and professional price"
The actress and activist reveals in a special interview the consequences of her fight for Israel, the real fear of violence on the streets, and the surprising reason that almost prevented her from breaking into the public consciousness.
The activist and actress Noa Tishby, who has made headlines in recent years due to her intensive activity in defending Israel and fighting antisemitism on social media and in global media, was a guest on the "60 Seconds" segment of V1, hosted by Liel Eli.
During the interview, Noa Tishby spoke about the financial and professional price she paid following her decision to defend the State of Israel during the war, about the offers she received from several parties to join politics, and about the impressive achievements she has garnered throughout the magnificent career she has built.
"I paid a personal, financial, and professional price following my struggle for Israel," Tishby said.
Alongside this, the activist admitted that she often feared a nightmare scenario in which she would be exposed to violence against her by pro-Palestinian protesters.
As recalled, Noa Tishby participated in the television series "Ramat Aviv Gimmel" in the 90s, and this role was one of the central milestones in her breakthrough before moving to the USA. In an interview with Liel Eli, the actress said that she almost did not get to star in the popular series, and for a very unusual reason.
"Is it true that you almost didn't get the role in Ramat Aviv Gimmel because they said you were too fat?" the interviewer asked. Tishby confirmed the matter and added: "Yes, Globus said I was too fat and the director Yoel Zilberg insisted." After telling that she had received quite a few offers from Israeli parties to enter politics and faithfully represent the citizens, Noa Tishby addressed one of her most impressive career achievements.
Her two books became New York Times bestsellers. Let us recall, her first book, "Israel: A Simple Guide to the Most Misunderstood Country on Earth" reached the top of Amazon's sales lists even before it was published and subsequently entered the leading bestseller lists, including that of the New York Times.
Also her other book, "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Jew" (which she wrote together with Emmanuel Acho), achieved great success and reached the New York Times bestseller list shortly after its publication. "I was very excited, it was sad that it happened following October 7th," said Noa Tishby.
