Negotiations with Real: "Manchester City is waiting for an offer from Barcelona for Rodri"

Real Madrid continues its attempts to sign Rodri, but according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City is choosing for now not to rush to close the deal. According to the Italian journalist, Real is already conducting official negotiations with the English champion regarding the Spanish midfielder, while Rodri himself is interested in moving to the Santiago Bernabéu.

However, Romano claims that last week Manchester City decided to slow down the negotiations and not complete the deal, because the club estimates that other teams may join the fight for the player.

According to the report, the team that City especially expects to enter the race is Barcelona. If that indeed happens, the decision will largely be in Rodri's hands: he will be able to allow the Catalans to enter the picture or clarify to Manchester City that for him there is only one destination.

Romano adds that over the years Rodri has always marked Real Madrid as his preferred destination, so if he informs his club that he is interested only in the Blancos, this may tip the scales and lead to the completion of the deal.

It should be noted that this morning (Tuesday) in the Spanish "AS", they rejected this claim, arguing that "Rodri is not dazzled by Barcelona" and reported that "as far as Rodri is concerned, if he leaves Manchester City it is for one club - Real Madrid". According to the report, there was indeed interest from Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and recently from Barcelona, but Rodri insists on moving to Real.
