New England believes in Dor Turgeman: "He has very high potential"
Coach Marko Mitrović praised the Israeli striker: "He has qualities that you can see in training. He will start scoring and won't know where it's coming from."
Dor Turgeman continues to receive credit at the New England Revolution, and now coach Marko Mitrović is expressing great confidence in the Israeli striker's ability to become a more significant scorer for the remainder of the season.
Turgeman scored in the team's last match, a 1:1 draw against New York City, bringing his tally to five MLS goals this season. New England has won only once in its last five league games, but is still ranked fourth in the East, and the club hopes the Israeli can help it return to the winning track.
"Dor has very high potential," said Mitrović. "He has qualities that you can see in training. Now the question is how we manage to put the right pieces in the right time on the pitch."
The coach emphasized that, for him, Turgeman's path to improvement does not only go through scoring opportunities: "Before we talk about goals, there is something very important — to do the right things in the right way, the small actions. Not necessarily just situations in front of the goal, but those small things."
Mitrović added: "The only way this game rewards you is if you continue from game to game. Once you accumulate enough situations where you do the small things right, you will start scoring goals, and you won't even know where they are coming from."
