Netanyahu Maintains Low Profile Following Israel Elections Amid Coalition Talks
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu remains out of the public eye following Israel's recent elections, amid coalition talks and local complaints over security restrictions during his stay at a Tel Aviv hotel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has maintained a low public profile over the past week following the recent general elections, according to local reports. While final election tallies showed the Likud party securing its position as the largest faction in Israel, the right-wing bloc fell short of a broader majority, securing 53 mandates as Arab parties surged to a combined 19 seats.
Public Absence and Social Media Activity
Since his post-election address at the Likud headquarters at around 3:30 AM last Wednesday, Netanyahu has not appeared publicly or made vocal statements regarding the final results. His recent communications have been limited to sharing official party statements, highlighting reports concerning alleged electoral irregularities in the Arab sector, and voicing support for Shas leader Aryeh Deri.
In a recent statement posted to social media, Netanyahu emphasized his ongoing willingness to form a broad coalition:
"From day one, our hand was extended to form a broad national government. We aim to establish a wide administration with our partners and with any party that wishes to do so and does not support terrorism. I am open to dialogue on the matter."
Controversy Over Hotel Security Measures
During his stay at the Carlton Hotel in Tel Aviv, security arrangements caused significant disruptions for local residents and visitors along the promenade near the marina and Gordon Pool. Public movement restrictions, initially enacted for security reasons, remained in place for several days, sparking frustration among pedestrians and cyclists who faced severe congestion, particularly over the weekend.
Local residents expressed dismay over the prolonged closures. Orit, a Tel Aviv resident who regularly visits the area, noted the severe crowding along the blocked pathways. Gili, another local resident, criticized the duration of the restrictions, stating that maintaining closed public spaces for multiple days was excessive.
Political Consultations
Although Netanyahu departed the hotel earlier this week, he has continued political consultations behind the scenes. Reports indicate he has spoken with leaders of the right-wing bloc, as well as United Torah Judaism MK Yaakov Asher, whose party has yet to announce its recommendation to the president or endorse the final election results.
