Police Neutralize Armed Suspect After Shooting in Netanya
An armed suspect was neutralized by police after opening fire on officers in Netanya's Kiryat HaSharon neighborhood. The suspect is in critical condition, with no other casualties reported in the incident.

An armed suspect opened fire on police officers in the Kiryat HaSharon neighborhood of Netanya on Saturday evening.
The suspect, who was documented carrying a long weapon prior to the shooting, was neutralized by police officers and security forces. His condition is defined as critical. No other injuries were reported in the incident. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear.
Police officials stated that large forces from the Central District are operating at the scene and surrounding areas. Central District Commander Superintendent Amir Cohen is en route to the location.
A local resident described the moments of panic:
"We heard gunshots, everyone was naturally terrified and ran inside. I saw people running toward their homes."
Amir, another resident of the area, added:
"It was very scary. We were just sitting on the balcony in the late afternoon when we started hearing bursts of gunfire. We immediately ran inside so no one would get hurt. I later understood they neutralized him."
The report of the shooting was received by the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency hotline at 19:07. MDA paramedics reported that the shooter had been neutralized by police forces and confirmed that there were no other casualties at this stage.
