Netali Shem Tov narrows lawsuit against Channel 13: "Following court recommendation"
Former presenter Netali Shem Tov has removed the clause regarding reputational damage from her lawsuit against News 13, following a court recommendation to focus on the core issues of political persecution.
Dismissed News 13 presenter Netali Shem Tov is currently pursuing a major lawsuit against her former employer, Reshet 13. On Sunday, she revealed that she has decided to waive the clause in her claim concerning damage to her reputation.
"I am taking huge risks here, and I have just received a recommendation from the court to remove the clause dealing with reputation from the lawsuit," Shem Tov said on Avi Shushan's podcast. She explained that the court's recommendation was to focus on the core of the case—the injustice and the harm done to her—rather than the consequences.
Shem Tov continued: "We may pursue a separate tort claim later, as my lawyer suggests, though I don't know if I will have the strength for that. It is a difficult battle, and proving these things is challenging. However, I truly believe that as the real details emerge, justice will be served and everything will be okay."
As previously reported, Shem Tov claims that News 13 persecuted her on political grounds, leading to a severe boycott during her tenure. "They didn't like my column about Yair Lapid, nor the fact that I called for opening a front in the North, that I insisted Benjamin Netanyahu does not want to kill the hostages, or that I refused to say that Naftali Bennett is God," Shem Tov wrote.
