The saga surrounding the future of Julian Alvarez is far from over. According to a report in "Mundo Deportivo", the Argentine striker arrived at the Atletico Madrid complex on Monday with the intention of speaking with Diego Simeone to request his help in moving to Barcelona, only to discover that the coach was not there.
The report states that Alvarez did not expect Simeone to leave for a two-day trip to Ibiza at a time when it was known the striker was returning and seeking a meeting. The club's CEO, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, was also absent, which, according to the newspaper, only fueled the Argentine's frustration.
"Mundo Deportivo" claims that Alvarez told club staff that his patience had run out and that he intends to stand his ground. One of the messages attributed to him was particularly sharp: "Do not count on me." He reportedly intends to maintain this stance starting Wednesday, when Simeone is scheduled to return to lead team training sessions.
The striker remains determined to move to Barcelona, believing that Atletico made a promise back in February to allow him to leave this summer.
Now, following the failure to hold the planned talks, reports in Spain suggest that he has lost patience and intends to push with all his might to finalize the move.
