The Nazareth District Court has ordered the cancellation of operating permits for the private Bora Bora beach on the Sea of Galilee and the demolition of illegal structures at the site. The ruling follows a petition filed by the Adam Teva V'Din organization and Yael Dory, head of planning at the group.
Illegal Construction and Restricted Access
For years, the private beach operated with extensive unauthorized construction and no approved master plan. The beach was fenced off, restricting public access while visitors were charged admission, despite the Sea of Galilee shores being designated as a public resource.
The court made it clear that construction on beaches must be done within an orderly, approved planning framework, and that a temporary variance cannot be turned into a 17-year permanent reality, said Ortal Sankar from Adam Teva V'Din.

Environmental advocates emphasized that the ruling sends a strong message to planning authorities and private entities attempting to take over public coastal lands. The decision aims to restore public access and clear obstacles along the Sea of Galilee shoreline.
