Veteran musician and comedian Nancy Brandes is setting the web on fire, but it turns out not everyone is pleased with his jokes. Just a week after he uploaded a viral video in which he supposedly searched for a groom for his daughter, Emma Brandes, which garnered about half a million views, the comedian reveals the dramatic reaction behind the scenes from his daughter.
As recalled, in the video that flooded the networks, the two were documented during a car ride. Brandes detailed to his daughter, a soldier and model, what kind of groom he wishes for her — "pleasant, elegant, nice." When she innocently asked, "And what is the problem, Dad?", came the viral punchline: "That all these guys already have a boyfriend."
In an interview he gave to Hadar Miller on Channel 7, Brandes revealed that it was merely a family prank. The reason is simple: Emma is not looking for a match at all because she is already in a relationship.
Although the move was done in humor, the daughter was less enthusiastic about her love life becoming a public punchline in front of hundreds of thousands of viewers.
"She was angry at me," Brandes admitted with a smile when asked about her reaction.
Alongside this, Brandes shared a particularly ironic detail about the family dynamic at home. It turns out that the daughter, who grew up alongside one of the funniest people in Israel, is his toughest audience.
"She is the only person I don't make laugh," Brandes said. "All her friends are cracking up at me, and she says, 'I don't understand what you are laughing at.'"
